I have been having the same issues with updating the iTunes. first it was saying that it could not locate the itunes6464.msi. I resolved that issue by going into my registry and fixing the issue. Now I get The older version of iTunes could not be removed. Contact your tech support group. I have cleaned my registry, uninstalled all components of apple products on my computer, yet I still run into this problem. I've run registry cleaner, antivirus software and restarted the computer each time I've needed too. The only thing I have not done is reformat my harddrive. That may be my next task. Otherwise I am going to throw this computer out the window and run it over with my van.

I'm running Windows 8 in case you wonder. Ive tried Windows 10 on this computer but sadly, half of my hardware would not work and because my niece and nephew need the computer for school work, I had to uninstall windows 10.

That "older version cannot be removed" message is usually associated with Apple Software Update. If it is still on your computer then repairing the component usually allows things to proceed. Otherwise try cleaning up with the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall utility mentioned in note 1 below the second box. Worst case scenario and you cannot clean up ASU then you can use the steps in Install missing components to install everything apart from ASU.
